High-tech tree housesThe most intriguing building in Milan is apartment building Bosco Verticale. It won the International High Rise Award 2014 for its 'biological architecture'. A mixture of trees, shrubs and floral plants has been planted on balconies around the tower, creating 20.000 square metres of 'vertical forest'. According to the architects, Bosco Verticale will help to depollute the Milanese air.
Big, bigger, biggestThe famous business district Porta Nuova is one of Italy's most high-tech and international districts. It is packed with large international companies. You'll also find the famous architectural masterpiece UniCredit Tower. At 231 metres, this is Italy's tallest building.
The UniCredit is located at the Piazza Galileo Galilei, which offers nice cafes and restaurants, as well as large brand stores.
